How to set Android Date and Time

You can change your clock’s settings, including the date, time, and time zone. You can set how your alarms and timers work, and add clocks for other cities.

Important:

• Your device may use location to determine your time zone.
  • If “Use location” is turned off, your device location won’t be used to detect your time zone.
  • If “Use location” is turned on, your device location may be used to detect your time zone.
• Some devices only support using location to set the time zone, like Wi-Fi only tablets. These don’t have a "Use location" setting.

1. Open your phone's Clock app .
2. Tap More   Settings.
   • To pick your home time zone: Tap Home time zone.
   • To automatically update your time zone: Tap Change date & time  Set time zone automatically.
   • To add a clock for home while in another time zone: Turn on Automatic home clock.
   • To set a time zone manually: Tap Change date & time  Time zone.
     • If present: Turn off Set automatically.
     • Tap Time zone and select your time zone.
   • To set a time zone automatically: Tap Change date & time  Time zone.
     • Turn on Set automatically.

Tip: Only some devices let you automatically set the time zone.
