Below are the steps needed to reprogram the scanner to correct this issue:
Note: These instructions pertain to, but are not limited to, the following models of Elo scanner: E393160, E384627, and E245047
1. First, start by only attempting to apply the SNAPI configuration on the device. Occasionally, this reconfiguration will resolve the issue without any further reprogramming being required.
2. If step 1 above does not correct the issue, we will need to scan a few barcodes in a specific sequence instead. If the scanner is not lighting up, you may need to use the button located on the underside of the scanner to manually engage the reader. It is located on the left-hand side of the scanner, towards the back, while it is mounted. See the image below for clarification.
a. Start by scanning the Restore Defaults Code.
b. Then scan the Standard barcode.
c. Now scan the Presentation barcode below.
d. Third, scan the SNAPI barcode.
e. Most UPCs and guest barcodes use Interleave 2 of 5, so scan the below to enable that.
f. Lastly, allow any length barcodes for Interleave 2 of 5.
