As venues are able to host a number of different events, Tapin2 allows for creating different event types to give venues flexibility in their branding and pricing options.
A venue can quickly update CSS stylesheets and/or product pricing for the next event by using the Event Types feature. Additionally, specific Locations can be "preset", or configured so that they are available for any event.
Please note: If you wish to implement Event Types, a Tapin2 employee will need to assist you with adding any integrations from the default Event Type to the newly created ones. If you wish to implement Price Levels, there is also a system setting that we will need to enable for your venue to be able to see the multiple price levels on the product pages.
To create a new Price Level:
1. Click on Venue Settings on the left navigation and then click on Price Levels
2. Click on Add a Price Level + on the top right corner of the admin page
3. Enter a name for the new Price Level, then click Save.
To create a new Event Type:
1. Click on the Events link at the top of the sidebar on the left to access the Events/Index page
2. On the Event/Index page, click the green button labeled Add Event Types
3. On the EventType/Index page, name your event type in the Event Type input field and click the Add button
4. In the Price Level dropdown for your new event type, select the Price Level you’d like to associate with this Event Type.
There is no save button after this step.
To set Product Price levels per Event Type:
1. Click on the Locations & Menus link on the sidebar, then click the link to Products
2. On the Product/Index page, find the product you’d like to update and click its edit icon on the right
3. On the Product/Edit page, you will see all created Event Types with a price input field below each one.
4. Update each field with their various prices and save.
Note: If the Event Type price input is null, the default price will be used in its place on all apps.
How to assign Event Types to Menus:
- Click on the Locations & Menus link on the sidebar, then click the link to Menus
Click on the number in the Event Types Column to edit the Event Types for that Menu
On Price Levels page, click on the red "x" to assign the Event Type to the Menu.
How to Preset Locations for an Event Type
When at least one custom Event Type has been created at a venue, each Location will have an "Events" link added to its list of links. Venues can configure a location so that it is always available at a specific event type.
1. Click on the Events link for the location you want to configure
2. On the location's Events page, the Available Event Types column lists all custom Event Types created on your venue. Included Event Types lists all Event Types for which this location will be made available.
3. Select the Event type to use for this location, then click the right arrow >> to move the event type to the Included Event Types column.
In the example above, the Concert event type has been made available for the Burgers and Dogs location. Burgers and Dogs will not be available for Expo or Private type events.
If no event types are specified for a location in this manner, the location will be available at all events
