The Message Center, a new feature available on the Tapin2 Admin Portal, allows for improved SMS communication between venue admins and guests by providing a place for admins to receive and review customer inquiries throughout an event
This article provides a concise guide to setting up and using the Message Center
Setup and Requirements
- The Message Center is available to admins with the Venue Admin role permission
- To use the Message Center the venue must be configured with a supported customer support phone number
- Please reach out to the Support team for information about setting up your Message Center if your phone number is not currently supported or is blank
Notifications
When a guest replies to a venue's receipt SMS message, admins will be notified by a chat bubble notification icon that appears on the Message Center link
The notification appears on the Events section itself if the section is collapsed to ensure visibility

Replying to Messages
- The Customer Messaging tab on the Message Center page displays all messages received from guests during the active event
- Unread messages are highlighted in a green color, while Read messages are shown in a gray color and Selected messages are shown in a dark blue color
- Each message in the Messaging tab displays:
- the Order ID relating to the message
- how long ago (in minutes) the message was sent
- Guest phone number
- Message preview
- Click on a message to open the conversation in a window alongside the Chat list
- The message history opens in a window to the right of the Customer Messaging tabs and displays all messages related to the order
- Messages To the guest are shown in dark blue
- Messages From the guest are shown in gray
- The message history opens in a window to the right of the Customer Messaging tabs and displays all messages related to the order
- To reply to a guest type your message into the text field, then click the Send button
Note: Venue Admins can reply to guest messages in the Message Center but can't start new conversations.
Canned/Quick Messages
Canned/Quick messages are messages that can be created beforehand by a venue to help answer commonly asked questions
After creating a canned message, the message will be available to select and insert into the chat text field
