To process a Partial Refund, first access the order or tab you'd like to refund and click on its Partial Refund button.
The location of the button is different depending on whether you are refunding an Order or a Tab.
Whether you are refunding an Order or a Tab you can choose to refund by a specific amount or refund specific items:
Partial Refund - By Specified Amount

The Partial Refund button for orders is found on the upper right hand corner of the Order Detail page
Partial Refund - Tab button
The Partial Refund button for tabs is found on the lower right-hand corner of the Tab Detail page
Partial Refund - By Item
1. Check the box next to the item you'd like to refund. If there are multiple of the same item use the dropdown to select how many of the item to refund
2. Confirm that the amount on this "Total to be Refunded" field is the correct amount to be refunded
3. Enter an email address or phone number to receive the refund confirmation
4. Leave Remaining Balance - Only use when you want to add the refunded amount back as a balance due, mostly used when a guest wants to split a payment but one card has already been charged.
5. Press the Process Partial Refund button to complete the refund.
Partial Refund - By Specified Amount
1. Enter the specific amount to refund in the Total to be Refunded field only.
2. Click or tab into the email or phone field to enter refund confirmation information.
3. Leave Remaining Balance - Only use when you want to add the refunded amount back as a balance due, mostly used when a guest wants to split a payment but one card has already been charged.
4. Press the Partial Refund button to complete the refund.
Leave Remaining Balance
When processing a partial refund, there is now an option to "Leave Remaining Balance" at the bottom of the Partial Refund page.
If this option is selected:
- The refunded amount will go back to the customer, the tab will be re-opened, and the refunded amount will remain as a balance on the tab.
- The tab cannot be closed until the remaining balance is paid with another form of payment.
If this option is not selected:
- The refunded amount will go back to the customer, the tab’s balance will be $0.00, and the tab will remain Closed.
This gives you more flexibility when guests want to change how they pay after a partial refund (like switching from card to cash or another method).
